My Smashbox limitless beauty kit

There might be very little practical point posting it now, as I was unable to find this set online, but for those of you who will come along this one - don't hesitate, grab it!
I also got two freebies - so it was like getting a full set of higher-end makeup for $38 - quite a bargain I tell you. If I am not mistaken the freebies were their single ES in Flirt

(you get something else if you order in their "lunch break" time) and a Full Exposure  mascara was a sort of a deluxe sample.
I can't say much about these two - as I have opened the mascara for the first time for the picture purposes (before I was saving it from drying) and I find the shadow quite similar to the one in the palette. so I haven't even swatched it yet. So as their infamous HD primer - I never opened it - too scared to break out, and I don't really need a primer for my Laura Mercier mineral foundation.
My three most favorite items are the palette, blush and the eye pencil.

The pencil. It is called Limittless eye liner in color Java and stays on all day without smudging. It's a total win for me as I much more prefer brown liners to black ones - they seem to accentuate my eyes instead of closing them.

The palette. Shimmery shadows are very smooth and blend very easy. The matte ones are rather hard, I would even call the lightes one chalky - but that is only texture-wise  - it makes a great brow bone highlighter and the darkest one can be used as a brow-filler. Now I already have rather dark and dense brows so I only use it when I want to achieve a dramatic effect, so I am not to be quoted if you need to use it everyday.

And of course, The Blush. It's Blush Rush in Everlasting. Peachy-pink perfect flush color for my skin (Laura Mercier mineral in Real sand) . Every new cheek product break me out at first use - even the best mineral ones. With some of them it goes away in a couple of days, with some not so much. THIS BLUSH NEVER BROKE ME OUT IN THE SLIGHTEST. 'Nuff said.

So here's my belated and not so necessary review in the Smashbox Limitless beauty kit. Hope it was useful for you.
 Have a safe week everyone

Long time, no see

Skybluedream returns to blogging, take two! Action

So this time I just couldn't help but post. This shampoo is absolutely amazing. It makes your hair look great, feel great and style at its best - what else can a girl ask for? The mysterious miracle worker is

Cristophe Professional Glossing Shampoo which I picked up whilst wandering around my CVS. I was looking for something to revive my hair, which is not tested on animals and paraben free. It just happened to have it all.

I was going to blog about it when I was on my first bottle of it, but then thought - it must be just the Argan and Monoi oils in it that make it so good and I am just late on the band wagon on appreciating them, so there is no need to rave about this particular brand. So after I ran out and got another brand. And got nothing. Hair was nearly as healthy as they are with Cristophe Glossing Shampoo.
And as soon as I got my new bottle of the GS the magic continued. And every time I meet someone whom I don't see on a daily basis I get asked the same question - "Did you just dye your hair? It looks so shiny". And I am not exaggerating - even my hairdresser asked that.
See it for yourselves

Try it. Although we are all different I am pretty sure it will be a good match for quite a few of us.

I missed you, blogger!

My new HG foundation

Ladies, let me introduce you to my beloved friend Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Natural Beige.

I've been using it nonstop for the last month and after I ran out of all my other foundations I never felt a need to go out and buy another one.
It provides a smooth buildable coverage, matches my skin perfectly and gives me a healthy glowy finish - which, honestly, I thought was impossible for my oily skin. It beats BE HANDS DOWN in coverage, finish and lasting power. I am now sure that it's better for my face - than going bare faced! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I use a Sephora 45 - professional mineral powder brush to apply it. It is really dense and soft at the same time. Works way better than BE brushes. Hasn't shad a hair since I started using it, which was over a month ago

What I also like about it - it's got a fairly long handle, which allows you to control the application way better than with a regular kabuki.
They are both quite pricey - but well worth every penny.

It's been a long time

Hi, everyone!
It's been quite a while since I last posted. I've been busy with my life and to be completely honest, I just didn't feel like blogging.
But I definitely felt like shopping =) If happen to get back to "the writing mood" I will post about my most favorite purchases.
Onto the bright mode - I am an almost normal person now - I only have one foundation and 2 mascaras now. I can't believe it myself - but it's been like that for over a month now.

Hope you will all enjoy your weekend!

Review: Revlon 1" styling iron

A while ago I posted a Haul featuring Revlon 1" styling iron that I got on sale in Target. So this is my belated review on it. Here's a close look

It has 30 heat setting - which is an awesome feature and a durable cord connector (I can be making up technical terms right now, basically - when you twist the iron it curls only your hair, but not the cord=)))

I don't really care that it has metal barrel - as I personally believe - there's not much difference in damage with a curling iron - when with a flat iron - the smoother its surface is - the better it slides along you hair.

And that's a result right off the iron before any styling, you really need only 3-5 seconds for each section. and I promise, my hair is not that dry and damaged in person - it must be the flash side-effect

glad to be back to blogging, hope to keep it a bit more consistent.

I blame Marilou! NYC Expert last nail polish in 265 lemon cream

Yes, it was her post that brought out my inner child and made me go hunting for a yellow polish.

Now, I was buying this bottle just out of curiosity - to see how I feel about a  yellow polish on my nails. But it wouldn't hurt it formulation was good. But it wasn't! It's sheer and streaky even after 3 layers and chips like a  a lot. You can see it for yourself - and its only 12 hours old in this pic.

Color-wise - I would prefer it to be a bit more orange - something doesn't add up with a pastel yellow and my skin tone.

Revlon Bargain alert in CVS

Dear ladies grab your purses and run to CVS.
You can get 2 Revlon CustomEyes eye shadow pallets for $3-5
They are originally $8.99 EACH. This week its buy one get one 50% off, plus they both have $2 off stickers on them, plus if you scan your CVS card prior to purchase you will get $5 off any TWO Revlon face or lip cosmetics  purchase. And I also had 2 EXTRA BUCKs
8.99x2-4.5-2-2-5-2=(don't forget the taxes)=2.68

And don't be put off by swatches - they do look poorly pigmented when swatched
these are the colors I was mainly going for. The right one is from Naturally Glamorous Palette (020) reminds me of Mulch from MAC - its a warm brown with red shimmer.
When picked by a dense short bristle brush it turns out to be rather bright on the lid

And this is just one effortless swipe I made right after I got home plus the pictures are made with a flash, so colors are darker in real life. And something's telling me they are very buildable.
fuf, I made it, I was typing on my top speed, rushing to share the news!

Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow collection in Comfort zone - swatches and review

I've been eyeing his for what it seems like forever. With each new post/review I persuaded myself that I don't need it, but in fact only wanted it more.
After reading this post in Everyday Makeup Blog, I knew it had to go home with me. And it did
top swatches
and bottom one

My favorite is the last one in the in the first row. The one that was featured in the review I mentioned. I think it is a dupe for MAC Club, but as I don't own this one I can only suppose.

This shadows are extremely pigmented and rather long-lasting even without any primer.
But they are rather irritating for my sensitive eyes not as much as ELF ones though (I have allergies and wear contacts). My eyes start itch in about 2-3 hours (I guess when the shimmer start to fall out). So they don't make a good everyday pallet for me, more a go out one. But the colors are so gorgeous that its hard to try not to wear them.

Hope this was helpful for anyone.

Review: Milani LIQUIF EYE Metallic Eyeliner Pencil

I've been meaning to make this review for over a month now. I guess, I was just waiting for "inspiration".
So, anyways -
(thank you, Google images)

  • it doesn't smudge
  • doesn't melt
  • doesn't leave imprints on you upper part of the lid
  • is paraben free
It literally stays put where you put it all day - on condition that you let it dry for 5-10 seconds.
This is one easy swipe
And this is it after an intense rubbing (I don't think anyone can be that hard on their eyes) (sorry its unfocused)
What I also like - it the type of brown it is - dark, pigmented, and not than much worm to scream "hey, I am wearing a brown eye liner" - just enough for a natural yet defined look.
I just love it.
The cons are  - the formulation a bit irritating on the waterline for my sensitive eyes (but stays there for ages and the irritation calm down in 5-10 minutes)  and this pencil extremely soft - so it runs out like crazy - I only used it twice and it already reached the wooden part.

Definitely recommend and will repurchase.

Burt's Bees Natural Fluoride Whitening Paste

I never new there was  Burt's Bess natural whitening toothpaste until I found it in my Target. I also comes with a free lip-balm and costs $3.48
Here's the list of its ingredients
I'll post my thoughts on how it works after I've used it for a week or so.

Walgreen's and Target haul!

Hi everyone
I've had two most hectic weeks at work and so I went shopping - sounds pretty logical to me =))
Here's what I got
I've been meaning to get a 1" curling iron for ages and this Revlon one was a) pink b) on sale - so here's a close up. And  of course you always have to use a heat-protecting spray. This is my first time trying Tresemme Thermal creations heat tamer spray. Hope it's as good as its said to be.

I also got 4 polishes I've been looking for for a month  -they were sold out around me
They are - Wen'n'Wild Grey's anatomy, Revlon Black star, Wet'n'Wild Bite the bullet and Disturbia.
I also Got Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Pink sugar

And I couldn't pass on this kit from Ecotools by Alicia Silverstone. It's a brush kit and a cosmetic bag 2-in-one. Just what I was looking for.

Review and more details comming soon.

Entire Orly nail polish stock is $2.99 in Sally's

Ladies, if you have Sally's beauty supply near you, I strongly advise you to go check their Orly polishes out.
They have a promo going on now and ANY ORLY polish is just $2.99.

Even those babes from their new collection

Nude one is Pure porcelain and teal one is Sapphire Silk

And this is how Sapphire Silk looks like on (sorry for a blurry picture, but this one made the most justice to the color - but its still a tad lighter in real life)

Ladies, I have decided to start hurt my hair again and get myself a flat iron.

As I don't plan to use it often I think I will be just fine with a drugstore one (if you can say so about a flat iron), ie  something that doesn't cost more than $50.

So I've picked Remington Shine or Frizz therapy - the one that infuses your hair with oils.
I've actually used this one once and  had a feeling it was much more drying then a high-end iron I was using 3 years ago. Or is that because I forgot what a flat iron does to hair?
Please, please give me your advise on this one. I don't want to fry my hair or through money away on something that doesn't work.
Or do you think its better for my hair to splurge on a more expensive one?
If you have any other suggestions I will be more then grateful.

What's in my mail

Seriously! You should see my face when I find a new box by my door or see a UPS truck park by my house! The best ones are the ones that my parents and sister send me! To be honest I don't care what's in those ones- the box can be filled with paper - I will be just as happy, because I know just a few days ago my mom touched and packed it!

But this time I am going to share with you my Origins purchase. I actually begin to like online shopping over an in-store one.
It's four times more trill. First - you get to choose what you want without ever present SA (I don't find them necessary - I never got any useful help from one - colors never matched products never fit my skin and it makes me want to get done with a purchase just to make her go away. The lucky exclusion is Sephora SA - they remind me of fairies - appear when you need them, help and vanish right away. Second - the thrill of a purchase. Third -when you get your tracking number. Now you know that your preeeeeecious is on its way to you. And the forth - when you actually open the box.

So let's see what's inside this one:

Can't wait to use each and every single one of them. And Peace of Mind is said to help with migraines  - if it really does that would be amazing!

Stay tuned for the reviews!
